National Volunteer Week 2018

Celebrate National Volunteer Week (#NVW) 2018

Support our Lowell food justice work by volunteering side-by-side with our Mill City Grows team! Below are our volunteer opportunities during #NVW 2018:

. . .

Thursday, April 19  |  9am – 4pm
Garden Build at Hampshire Street Garden in Eagle Park
99 Jewett Street, Lowell

Help the MCG team build and fill our garden beds at one of our newest community gardens, Hampshire Street Garden in Eagle Park! This project involves the use of power tools and heavy machinery, so it is not recommended for children. We DO welcome volunteers who are comfortable with power tools and woodworking! Refreshments will be provided. This event is subject to change, weather permitting. Please contact us to register and be kept up to date with any changes in scheduling.

Please email volunteer[at]millcitygrows[dot]org for more details and to schedule your volunteer shift.

Saturday, April 21  |  8am – 12pm
General maintenance at our “Big Farm” in Pawtucketville
(address will be provided upon volunteer registration)

When you work on our farms, you aid in providing Lowell with delicious local food that you’ve helped plant, cultivate, and harvest! On this morning, we’ll be transplanting seedling veggies like chard, leeks, beets, lettuce, cabbage, and potatoes. We’ll also be turning compost and laying mulch. All are welcome to join us — refreshments will be provided!

Please email volunteer[at]millcitygrows[dot]org for more details and to schedule your volunteer shift. You may also sign up for this particular volunteer day by visiting our Mill City Grows Volunteer Page and signing up through our volunteer calendar.
