MOBILE MARKET PROGRAM

To ensure fresh food is available to residents throughout the winter, we’ve launched our first ever indoor Winter Farmers’ Market, held bi-weekly on Wednesdays through March 2022 at our ROOT Kitchen. See the full schedule and details on our Winter Market page.

SCHOOL GARDEN PROGRAM

In 2021, select school gardens were designated as additional food production sites to meet the growing demand for fresh food in Lowell. Food grown on these sites was distributed at no cost to Lowell Public Schools families through our “School Garden Grab and Go” Program in partnership with Lowell Public Schools Food & Nutrition Services and Lowell Farm to School. Learn more here.

COMMUNITY GARDENS

Our Community Gardens were open for the 2021 season with safety protocols in place.

GARDENER EDUCATION

For the safety of our community, our 2022 Gardener Training Program (GTP) and Gardener Leadership Institute (GLI) will take place virtually and in person. Class updates are available on our Gardener Education page.

FARM TO TABLE COOKING CLASSES

2022 Farm to Table Cooking Classes will be held in person at our ROOT Kitchen with protective protocols in place, including masking.

YOUTH FOOD JUSTICE PROGRAMS

For the safety of our community, our J-Squad Programming and Summer Farm Field Trips were not held in summer 2021. We look forward to bringing youth back to the farm for hands-on learning on our urban growing spaces, and will post updates on our Youth Food Justice page.

ANNUAL FALL HARVEST FESTIVAL

In September 2020, we took our Annual Fall Harvest Festival ONLINE and shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos across our social media channels. Please visit us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to enjoy our Harvest Festival posts and content.
