Youth Food Justice Program Summer Farm Field Trips

Interested is having summer field trips for your youth group?
What about a field trip to an Urban Farm!

Whether you have worked with us in the past or are hoping to work with Mill City Grows for the first time this year, we would love to have you out to one of our Urban Farms as participants in our Youth Food Justice Program! Please see below for details:

Farm Field Trips will be offered for 1, 2 or 3 hours from July 10 – August 17, 2018, during the following days and times:

* Tuesday afternoons (between 1pm – 4pm)
* Wednesday all day (between 9am – 12pm  or 1pm – 4pm)
* Friday mornings (between 9am – 12pm)

Each field trip will include a farm scavenger hunt/farm lesson and a farm fresh snack. Longer field trips will also include a farm project.

We can accommodate up to 15 students at our small farm on Middlesex Street and up to 40 students at our Big Farm in Pawtucketville. We cannot provide transportation to either site at this time. We ask that at least one staff member be present for field trips of up to 10 students, 2 staff members for up to 20 students, 3 staff members for up to 30 students, and 4 staff members for up to 40 students.

We have a sliding scale fee for field trips, but will not turn any organization away due to financial reasons.

If you are interested in scheduling a farm field trip, please fill out this form or contact Maggie Notopoulos at maggie[at]millcitygrows[dot]org.

Spots tend to go quickly! We look forward to hearing from you!
