About The Project:  The Lowell Career Academy installed their school garden to help beautify school grounds on a cold, windy day in April 2015. With LCA’s selection as a Full Service Community School, 7 more raised beds and an irrigation system were designed and installed by students in the spring of 2016. The garden is a cornerstone of the LCA school community with science teachers installing indoor aquaponics systems inside their classrooms for yearlong food production, Garden to Table curriculum development, and garden produce used as nutritious snacks during the day. American Training, Inc of Lowell helps provide maintenance during the summer months allowing the garden to thrive even when school is not in session.
