Head outdoors and explore the beautiful Tewksbury Library Community Garden with Mill City Grows in this hands-on event series for kids in grades 3-5! We’ll plant veggies, play with worms, craft with natural dye, and more!
In "Planting 101," kids will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty while planting both seedlings and seeds. We will talk about all of the things plants need to grow big and strong while looking at a wide variety of veggies to put in the garden for future harvest!
Registration is required for each class, but you do not need to attend every week.

Head outdoors and explore the beautiful Tewksbury Library Community Garden with Mill City Grows in this hands-on event series for kids in grades 3-5! We’ll plant veggies, play with worms, craft with natural dye, and more!
In "Critters in the Garden," kids will take a closer look at the critters living in it! We will make discoveries on beneficial insects vs. pests while going on a bug hunt around the garden. Kids will get to use microscopes to look at a wide variety of insect samples and WORMS!

Come take a seat at our table! The Mill City Grows (MCG) Supper Club invites the public into our ROOT Community Space to enjoy a home-cooked meal prepared by our community, for our community. Each month, your MCG Meal Host will prepare a delicious dinner on-site at ROOT for 15 guests. Meal Hosts are members of our community who have a passion for cooking and sharing fresh food with others!
Our Supper Clubs are a great opportunity to meet new people or enjoy dinner with friends, neighbors, and family. They are FREE and open to all!

In "Art in the Garden," kids will use plants to make art in the garden! Kids will look at a variety of natural dye plants and discover the wide variety of colors that nature has to offer. Together we will make a natural dye project that everyone can take home!

In "Seed Celebration," kids will celebrate seeds! They'll take a closer look at seeds of all different shapes and sizes under the microscopes and do some hands-on discoveries with the seed samples. They will have the opportunity to plant some seeds in the garden and make their very own pollinator garden seed bombs to bring home!
