About Our Big Urban Farm
Nestled behind the parking lot of Cross River Center in Lowell’s Pawtucketville neighborhood is Mill City Grows’ 4-acre food production site we call our Big Urban Farm! Each year, tens of thousands of pounds of food is grown here for our community by Mill City Grows, market farmers in our Merrimack Valley Growers Aid Program, and two small businesses, Craic Sauce and Horne Family Farms.

In addition to food production, our Big Farm is home to our beautiful School Education Garden where school-aged youth learn more about our local food system using all their senses — tasting fresh fruits and veggies, touching and smelling seasonal herbs and flowers, and marveling at the insect and plant life that grows on the farm. It’s the perfect place for fun, outdoor exploration!

We look forward to welcoming you to this special place on Saturday, October 3, so bring your friends and family — all ages are welcomed!
