MILL CITY GROWS LAUNCHES 2023-2024 INDOOR WINTER MOBILE FARMERS MARKET SEASON
Seasonal, locally grown produce is now available for purchase through April 2024 at Mill City Grows’ (MCG) Indoor Winter Farmers Markets at UMass Lowell University Crossing and the Lowell Senior Center. Shoppers can enjoy a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables grown in the City of Lowell as well as produce sourced from area farmers.

Mill City Grows has been awarded the first of two annual installments of $30,000 to support its commitment to eradicating hunger in Massachusetts. The “Moving the Needle” community investment program launched by Project Bread is designed for organizations addressing food insecurity with sustainable and systemic change.

Lowell-based non-profit Mill City Grows (MCG) continues to commemorate its 10-year Anniversary with a special series of events throughout 2022. Marking MCG’s first in-person fundraiser in three years, “A Toast to the Harvest” will be held on Friday, September 23 from 6pm to 8pm, outdoors on the lawn behind the Tsongas Center (300 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way). Tickets are now on sale at MillCityGrows.org with all proceeds benefitting MCG’s Food Access & Education Programs in Lowell.

Lowell-based non-profit Mill City Grows (MCG) is partnering with The Bike Connector for “Choose Your Own Bike Adventure,” an afternoon of self-guided bicycle tours of Lowell’s gardens, farms, and urban agricultural spaces in commemoration of MCG’s 10th Anniversary. The event takes place from 1pm-3pm and starts at North Common Community Garden, 465 Fletcher Street in Lowell.
